That dash my friends, represents our LIFE when we leave this world..

As we do not choose how we are born, we do not choose how we die. But let us choose how we live, that little dash…

These three are WEALTH, HAPPINESS & HEALTH. Think about it.

In the course of ones lifetime, people struggle or juggle between these three. It is very rare to see people who  are satisfied in all these aspects of their life. Note that I did not say successful but satisfied or contented. The reason being one may not be a millionaire but contented and so on…

As I reflect upon it, I think the reason why people struggle here is that they don’t really know which is important to them and to those around them. Often times, gain of one sacrifices another. Many times have I seen wealthy but broken families or wealthy but unhealthy. In the same note, I have seen average people unhappy with their lives. To the extreme, there are those who are poor, unhappy and unhealthy.

As for me, the most important is Health, then Happiness, and last is Wealth..what’s yours?

While writing this post, I was also reading about it and came upon this blog. I recommend reading this too on what is important to us vis-a-vis others.

1. Happiness comes from within. It does not come from buying a new gadget, moving to another company, or getting this and that. Admittedly, some happiness can come from those things but more on that later.
2. Happiness can indeed come from money but only up to a certain level. Once the basic needs are met, money’s role on happiness decreases.
3. Happiness is found in relationships. The more wonderful and genuine the relationships are, the happier one is. If you are not happy, look at your relationships.
4. Happiness is viral. Happiness permeates and blesses other people which in turn blesses others.
5. Stop comparing yourself  with other people. The less you compare, the happier you become.
6. Happiness is a choice. And because of that, it should be nurtured.
7. Happiness is greater when you give than when you receive. When I was young, receiving gifts was the ultimate joy. Now that I’m older, I realized that giving is so much better.
8. Happiness affects everything in our lives. Our paradigm, our words, relationships, our health, even to the food and clothing we choose. It’s something from within that shows.
9. Happiness is love. The more you love, the happier you are. The more you love, the happier others become.
10. Be grateful. There are so many things to be grateful for.

Be content with that you have; rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you. – Lao Tzu

The Dalai Lama said: ”All individuals are equal in that every one of us instinctively seeks happiness and avoids suffering.”

So let me leave you with this. What’s keeping your from being happy? What should you change?
